Breadth of Mind, Depth of Heart

The Challenge

Moreton Bay College is a very well respected private girl’s college in Brisbane’s South that has been encouraging girls to be all that they can for over 110 years. The school has a proud history and that history naturally contributes to the formation of the school’s personality and value system.

The school identified that they held great wealth in their people, property and heritage. The school’s executive team was keen to harness that wealth through the creation of a meaningful brand story that concentrated on the college’s unique position on beautiful Moreton Bay, the freedom to grow afforded to the students by the spacious grounds, their rich heritage of inspiring women and the superior quality of the educational experience.

The Journey

Lloyd Grey worked with the Moreton Bay College executive team to formalise their personality, vision and values and clarify how to best bring that message to market. We developed the positioning statement “Breadth of Mind, Depth of Heart” and workshopped to developed a suite of priority key messages that would effectively support the positioning work and drive home strategic intent. Our design teams also created visual solutions to share that positioning. The visual solutions included refining the college crest, developing a formal colour palette and house style, incorporating the existing logo and designing and delivering a comprehensive photgoraphic library. This work all served to highlight to current and potential families of Moreton Bay the college’s strengths and provide brand consistency across a wide variety of market touchpoints.

The Destination

Moreton Bay College is now communicating their strengths and benefits more effectively than ever. Lloyd Grey has not only designed and delivered a holistic brand solution for the College that has equipped them to meet and exceed enrolment goals but the new livery, messaging and photography creates a positive impression of the school in the community that has enduring benefits for alumni, staff, parents and the student body. The look, feel and personality is fresh, engaging and accurately reflects all of the characteristics that make Moreton Bay College a great place to work, learn and engage with.

To ensure ongoing branding and culture alignment Lloyd Grey crafted a Brand Guardianship and Style Guide for MBC and worked closely with the College’s inhouse Communications team to empower them to manage the brand assets moving forward.
